Lovely Lattices

One of the gorgeous Sale-a-bration items is Lovely Lattice. I love the gorgeous floral stamps, there are 3, one of them is huge, and it is perfect for card fronts.

This set is one of the new ‘cling’ sets. I previously did not add the pictures to the back of my clear stamps (they are clear as they are added to a clear block.)  I have to confess I struggled to line up the images at first; however I am now getting used to it. They are amazing; they are very clingy, almost too clingy. To remove the stamp from the block, grasp securely near the image label and remove slowly, there are a number of suggestions for example placing washi tape under one corner of the stamp.

I had been playing with the Lovely Lattice stamp and making examples, I like to use all the stamps. I have to confess the large image was easy to use, but I struggled with the smaller flower. I found some gorgeous inspiration on Pinterest. I created two cards; I have to say this is my favourite. I love the little flowers the Daffodil Delight blends and the gorgeous sentiment from the ‘Strong and Beautiful’ stamp set.

I have a few more examples to share; I have a video to share these which you will be able to see on Saturday!

Beautiful You in Black and White

Today is a slight change to the planned programme, ! I had planned to publish a video on the Botanical Butterfly papers and examples i made. Then I realised that the pictures I had taken of the items were odd, I am not sure what my camera was doing but all the words are all blurry. I have not had chance to work out what went wrong or retake the pictures, so instead I wanted to show the gorgeous card I made using one of my favourite sets.

I have loved the Beautiful You stamp set since I won it at a Stampin’ Up! event. There are so many gorgeous ideas on Pinterest using this set and that it matches with lots of different sets. I decided to go simple with this card, using Whisper White and Basic Black. I used a ‘missing you’ sentiment from the stunning Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set. I added a bit of bling, with the Black Mini Sequin Trim. I think it rounds off the card perfectly but is not too over the top.

This could be done in so many different colours. Do you have a favourite colour to use for Beautiful You cards?

Gingham Gala papers

Today I have updated my gallery with examples I have made using the Gingham Gala papers from the Gingham gala suite. The Colours are Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. One side of the papers has small checks and the other larger checks. There are some interesting ideas on Pinterest where people have added to the papers to make them look like Tartans.

At first when I was playing with the papers, I wanted to make a baby card. I think it was the Balmy Blue checks, however, after stepping back and looking at the colours again, I was ready to play again but without ‘Baby’ popping in to my head.

I have used a number of different stamp sets for my examples.  I wanted to show the versatility of the papers. Although there are limited designs and colours in the papers, they can be used with so many sets. I think that they are a fabulous addition to any stash.

I have tried to limit the number of examples using the Butterfly Duo punch as I don’t want to tease you with an item which you can not buy. Stampin’ Up! has switched the ordering off, however they have ordered some more and the ordering should be switched back on in March.

The video below shows the examples I have made using the papers.

I especially love the Lovely Lattice card, I am a secret Wink of Stella addict. I would recommend using thick Whisper White if you are planning to watercolour with it though. I hope you like my examples.

Old Favourites

Sometimes I like to go back to old cards for inspiration and remake them in different colours and DSPs. Today’s card front is a bit different, it is nearly a like for like remake. I originally saw the inspiration for this card in a design challenge, an amazing Australian demo called Teneale Williams created a stunning card. I CASEd the card a few years ago. This is one of my favourites and the return of Mint Macaron meant that I can use the same colours. I did have to change the stamp set as Gorgeous Grunge has retired, instead I used swirly bird it is an amazingly versatile stamp set. If you haven’t seen it before, I recommend a Pinterest search, it can be used all year round.

Although you can’t see well I have used one of my favourite embossing folders Softly Falling, again this can be used all year round. The flower is a butterfly from the Sunshine Wishes dies. I would add this to a Mint Macaron.
