Funny Little Valentine - Sealed with Love - Stampin' Up!

Over the last few days I have been playing in the Craft Room. Soon it will be February so it is Valentines day, the day of love.

I wanted to make a different Valentines card. I do love the Real Red and Whisper White, but after so many cards I am a little bit bored.

As I explained yesterday, I used the small hearts and post it masks. I made sure that the small full hearts were covered and made the more random shapes with the stripy hearts. I used a random combination, but I think it works. It is Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach (this was stamped off) and So Saffron.

The love wording is from 'Watercolour Words' this is another of my go to stamp sets. I love the swirly letters. As I explained yesterday I saved the circle from a card that went a bit wrong. I was so upset!

But I saved a small part using the Layering Circle Framelits. Most things can be saved and I am happy with the card that I created.

Argh Moments

Yesterday I was playing with the new Sealed with Love stamp set, I was trying a masking technique with heart shapes. I had been thinking about how to do it for a few days. I love the hearts but didn't want to use 'typical' valentines day colours. I love Red and white, but wanted to try something different.

I used the colour combination of Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Peekaboo peach with Calypso Coral, really random I know. But it worked I think.

I created a mask by die cutting a heart, I would suggest using the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. I also created heart masks using post it notes and the Full small heart from Sealed with Love. I used the masks to ensure that the hearts crossed as few times as possible.

I was really happy with the result, but then I went a bit doolally. It didn't fit straight on the base, so to fix it I altered the side, I accidently then cut the same time and ruined the heart.

I was so disappointed. So I decided to cut out the centre and use it as a card.

I will show you the results tomorrow. I love love love it! But I am bias.

Fiddling

I have had a pretty frustrating few days, I have been trying to make some protypes for cards. I have been doing my normal trick of not leaving them alone when I get to a certain point.

On Thursday I was playing with a sketch, I was still playing with Balloons, I somehow managed to ruin the balloon string, I tried to fix it with bakers twine but that did not work either.

My other mistake that I make a lot is glue! It goes everywhere, I am messy on a good day, I am getting better, with practice,  but I still have silly moments. My advice is to use it sparingly, Tombow gives 'wiggle' room, if you put something in the wrong place you can move it, the adhesive remover is also a good fix, it is one of my favourite items

This card ended up with Falling in Love DSP which is one of my new favourites from the new Catty, as I decided to make a bag without making a prototype. It went a it wrong and I ended up with a sheet of 12 by 12 with score lines in that limited its use.

I don't think that I can save this card front, but I do like the concept, I will try and make a cleaner version tomorrow.

Balloon Obsession

Sometimes when you see CASE it means Copy and Share Everything, however, another view is Copy and Selectively edit. I have chosen to Copy and Selectively Edit a beautiful card off Pinterest.

You may have noticed that I have a slight obsession with Balloons. Within the new Spring/Summer Catalogue is a new stampset, Balloon Adventures, it comes in a bundle with some gorgeous dies.

I decided that I wanted to use the Flirty Flamingo ribbon before anything else and choose the colour scheme round this, using Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand.

I love the little bow and the fact that the set has a number of options for the Balloon Tail.

I am excited that it is Friday, so I can spend some time in my craft room over the weekend. I need to tidy up, but I am sure a few cards will be made! I plan to play with the new Sale-a-Bration items and Watercolour pencils.

Versatility- Gorgeoug Grunge

When you start crafting, sometimes the key is versatility, I ask myself how much will I use this? Is it worth it?

One of the stamp sets I use alot is Gorgeous Grunge, it is has so combinations that can be used. I love it either on its own or with different sentiments.

If you look on Pinterest there are so many amazing examples, I tend to Pin them and then try and make my own version.

I definitely recommend that it is an amazing set for every stamp collection.
