Colouful Seasons

colourfulseasonspink.png

It is autumn now and that means it gets very wet outside. It is raining here again and we have been watching the river as it is really high. Being autumn I was really tempted to use leaves as they are changing colours and falling to the ground. But I chose flowers, these dies are just so cute!

The first one went a bit wrong, i was trying to stamp a shadow, but I still think it looks rather cute.

The stampset goes amazingly with the colour theory DSP. As you may be able to tell I am addicted to Berry Burst, although I have been using a lot of Old Olive recently.

Its a Wonderful Life!

Have you ever looked at a Catalogue and thought I need that item? I try not to as I have so many pretty things already but when I saw this set I knew it was one I had to have. I needed it!  I have seen a few cars in this years Christmas stamp sets. I may be biased but this is my favourite. I think that it is so versatile being able to be used for wedding cards and thank you cards as well as Christmas. I love the tin cans that go on the back of the car. My favourite part is the tree which sits on the roof of the car, I am not sure about where I put the lights.

I must confess that the first time I stamped the banner upside down, so had to use different stamps to the one I had meant to. Also I want to experiment to see what types of snow I can put on the car. I am pinning layouts on Pinterest which I can use with this set. I find it amazingly inspiring.

I hope you like it as much as I do! I love it!

Gorgeous Stampin' Up! Daisy Birthday

bithdaydaisy.png

I have been making example cards over the last few weeks. I have been using some of my favourite items from the catalogue. One of these is the Delightful daisy suite, I love it. I have loved it since I first saw it at 'OnStage' in April. I love abstract patterns, my favourite papers last year was the Blooms and Bliss, this paper reminds me of that. The swirlsand colours add to the beauty of the leaves. I think that the colours are not what you expect and that they give you so many colours to choose from. I love Pool Part and Soft Sky, I have always been a blue, person I think I get it from my mother she always seems to be drawn to blue. I used the stamp set from Beautiful You. It contains some gorgeous sentiments.

Measurements:

  •  Soft Sky: 21cm x 14.8cm (8 1/4" x 5 13/16") , scored at 10.5cm (4 1/8") then folded to create card base
  •  Daisy Delight DSP: 10cm x 14.3cm (3 15/16” x 5 5/8”)
  • Strip of DSP - 1.5cm x 9.5c m (5/8"x 3 7/8")
  • Whisper White: 13.8cm x 9.5cm ( 5 7/8" x 3 7/8") for the inside of the card
  •  Soft Sky: scrap for Square
  • Whisper White: scrap for Square and two Daisies.
  1. Cut and score the card base.
  2. Use the square Framelits to cut out a Soft Sky square.
  3. Cut a smaller square in Whisper White
  4. Stamp the Daisies in Soft Sky and colour in one with a blender pen, using Soft Sky ink.
  5. Stamp the sentiment in Soft Sky ink on the Whisper White square.
  6. Stamp the leaf in Old Olive.
  7. Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White, for the inside of the card.
  8. Attach the strip of DSP to the bottom of inside piece of Whisper White.
  9. Attach the Whisper White to the inside of the card.
  10. Attach the Daisies to the front of the card using glue dots.
  11. Attach the square to the DSP using SNAIL.
  12. Attach the DSP to the card front using SNAIL.

I really like this card, but I may still be addicted to the Delightful Daisy set.

Jingle all the way with Stampin Up!

There is always a lot of excitement in the air at this time of year, the Stampin Up! catalogue for Autumn Winter has been released for preorder and there are a number of gorgeous examples of what demos have made on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram. One of my favourite sets is wishes all a glow! I think that this is a set which really lends itself to being heat embossed and it is gorgeous in gold.

I took a 14.8cm x 10.5cm card in cherry cobbler and added a 3cm strip of gold glimmer paper. I took a 7cm by 6cm rectangle and stamped the Jingle on in Cherry cobbler and used an embossing pen to turn the lights gold. I layered this on a 7.5 by 6.5cm rectangle which I stamp with Versamark using the stars from the set.

I am off to enjoy my craft room. I love the new items I have.
