Quick, Easy and Gorgeous cards using Bloom by Bloom Memories and More cards

hb-mm-thanks.png

The Happiness Blooms suite contains lots of gorgeous things.  I love it all! I was unsure at first as the colours are very bright. But I love the colours now!

The Bloom by Bloom Memories and More cards are perfect for creating quick cards, there is a mix of large and small cards, along with 4 sheets of some gorgeous stickers (adhesive elements, I think stickers sounds better!) I love the retro happiness of the cards they are is so bright! I think they have pushed me in to using more bright colours, as I was a subtle’s girl. I find myself reaching for Lovely Lipstick lots.

The  small cards can be placed straight onto the fabulous Night of Navy note cards which come with matching envelopes. One of my favourite things about the envelopes is that they are Whisper White, I struggle with dark envelopes, another fabulous feature is that they are lined with Night of Navy and Whisper White stripes, no fiddling to beautify the envelopes. You will need two packs of envelopes if you want to make all of the Bloom by Bloom Memories and More cards in to greetings cards.

I love these cards and they make amazingly gorgeous cards. I think that they make gorgeous cards and you can add some cute things from your stash.

Gingham Gala papers

Today I have updated my gallery with examples I have made using the Gingham Gala papers from the Gingham gala suite. The Colours are Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. One side of the papers has small checks and the other larger checks. There are some interesting ideas on Pinterest where people have added to the papers to make them look like Tartans.

At first when I was playing with the papers, I wanted to make a baby card. I think it was the Balmy Blue checks, however, after stepping back and looking at the colours again, I was ready to play again but without ‘Baby’ popping in to my head.

I have used a number of different stamp sets for my examples.  I wanted to show the versatility of the papers. Although there are limited designs and colours in the papers, they can be used with so many sets. I think that they are a fabulous addition to any stash.

I have tried to limit the number of examples using the Butterfly Duo punch as I don’t want to tease you with an item which you can not buy. Stampin’ Up! has switched the ordering off, however they have ordered some more and the ordering should be switched back on in March.

The video below shows the examples I have made using the papers.

I especially love the Lovely Lattice card, I am a secret Wink of Stella addict. I would recommend using thick Whisper White if you are planning to watercolour with it though. I hope you like my examples.

Something for Baby - Stamp Ink Paper #184

I seem to have spent a lot of time playing with Butterfly Gala a lot recently. I then had one of those moments when I couldn’t decide what I wanted to make of the stamps I wanted to use.

So I decided to see what challenges there were out there today. I find these really inspirational and the perfect way to craft easily. There were a number of challenges which I could enter, but today I decided to use the fabulous Stamp Ink Paper (#stampinkpaper). The inspiration is #184 Something for Baby.

I have a number of sets which I could of used for this card, but decided to go with First Steps. It is an amazingly cute set that I can imagine that I would keep even after it is no longer current. It is perfect for new baby cards. I had a left over card from a swap that I was making this morning so devised a simple card using this.

I cut a circle from a scrap of card using the layering circle dies to use as a stencil. I stuck the stencil on to the Whisper White card using washi tape. I have used Pool Party ink, I removed most of the ink to a create a light circle through the stencil using a sponge dauber. I used Balmy Blue for the foot and then Crumb Cake for the sentiment. I love the sentiment and think that this is enough to make the card work. | have layered the Whisper White on to layer of Pool Party which is slightly larger than the Whisper White layer and then added this on to a Balmy Blue card base.

You can find the other entries here

Dimensions

Base - Balmy Blue - 21cm x 14.5cm (folded at 10.5cm)

Layer - Pool Party- 9.5cm x 13.5cm

Stamped Layer - Whisper White- 9cm x 13cm

If you use inches I would recommend the Whisper White layer is 3/4 inch smaller than the Balmy Blue.

I have a few more challenge cards to make. I hope you like this one!

Butterfly Gala Gorgeousness

I am super excited that Stampin’ Up! have released a buttefly stamp set and punch. Although they have made butterfly punches before, they have not been available in a catalogue for a while. Everyone must love the ‘ punches as much as I do, because we have nearly run out of stock :( soon Stampin’ Up! will switch off ordering so that it does not go on to backorder. Whilst stocks are built back up it is expected that it will be unorderable until March. So if you like it get it now!

You will see lots of inspiration on blogs, YouTube and Pinterest. I love all the ideas, again these have been spinning around in my head. I found myself drawn towards pastel butterflies, although I must confess I am loving Lovely Lipstick too.

The vlog below talks you through the cards I have made, I have updated the Gallery to show the new cards that I have made using the set.

I adore this set, although I think that I am very lucky still to have the bodies and antennae’s they are so very tiny. I have some more of the Gala suite to show you. In fact my other half asked me why I was obsessed with making butterfly cards. I explained that it was a stamp set and that I still had a few more cards to make.

Butterfly Beauties

Firstly I must apologize I have been to London this week and haven’t sorted out my videos or pictures. I am last minute dot com on virtually everything. I find plans difficult to stick to, I do love playing in my craft room though and sharing my creations with you. This is one of my favorite cards ever.

I found the most amazing inspiration for a card from the fabulous Julie Kettlewell. The card wasn’t just a run of the mill card it uses an amazingly shaped card blank. She has made an amazing video showing how to create the base. It did take me a few attempts to get the paper the right way round. Note to self do not craft whilst tired.

I decided that I loved the Soft Sea Foam and Highland Heather combinations, although I am pulled toward blues for all butterflies. Using the blends and a punch makes quick cards.

I have so many more butterfly cards to show you, I love this stamp set and punch. I am so excited that Stampin’ Up! have such gorgeous items.
