Elements and Butterflies

I have to confess I have really enjoyed playing and designing items including the Butterfly Elements. I loved them from the first time I saw them. The Butterfly Elements, are FREE with a £45 spend, before postage and packing. They were at the top of my free Sale-a-Bration item list along with the Botanical Butterfly DSP.

Although they correspond with the Butterfly Gala bundle, both the stamps and punch, they also can make gorgeous cards without them. As they are available as one of the Sale-a-bration items they are available until the 31st March or whilst stocks last. Stampin’ Up! Have advised Demonstrators that the Butterfly elements are going fast and that they might not last until the end of Sale-a-bration.  So stock up now if you like them, if you haven’t got the Butterfly Duo punch yet, it will should be orderable again in March, but the elements might be gone by then so don’t miss  out!

On Thursday I explained a few ways you are able to add colour to these Wooden Elements, there are 84 pieces on 5 sheets in this Sale-a-bration item. The elements include fabulous flowers, foliage and different sizes of butterflies and butterfly outlines.

The videos below show the items I have made and an overview of the elements.

I love these elements as you can see from my examples, not only do the elements look amazing on cards.  You can add them on to gift wrapping, 3D projects or you may have seen the amazing examples, where they have been made into scissor charms. I have some left, so you may see them popping up in my examples over the next few weeks!

Black and white butterflies

I love Sketches and challenges, it stops the whirling of deciding what colours to use. My fabulous up-line set us a challenge just to use Black and White only. My first idea was a butterfly, I am not sure whether it works with no colour, I was so tempted to get the Watercolour pencils or Blends out and add colour, but it didn't fit with the challenge. I think that the butterflies should be bright and colourful, but it so pretty even without colour. The butterfly looks amazing with heat embossing and Brushos®, (in my opinion it was made for using different techniques for Brushos®),  but today I just went for simple black archival ink.

The sentiment is from my favourite host stamp set 'Dare to Dream.' I thought it went perfectly with the gorgeous butterfly. It reminded me of a quote I love.

I have a few more black and white cards which I will show or add to the gallery.
