Frosted Floral Suite by Stampin' Up!

Have you seen the new catalogue, there are some amazingly gorgeous items. One of my favourites is the Frosted Floral suite. It is a mixture of wintery and non wintery colours but with shimmer. I have also added extra shimmer on a number of the cards with the shimmer paints. I used the stamperatus to ensure that the stamps were lined up, I stamped with the colour ink and then restamp with the shimmer ink.

I have found that rather than inking the stamp with the ink pads, using a sponge to add ink works better. I added the colour by gently adding the ink. I love the colours in the papers although I was obsessed with Pink and Blackberry Bliss.

I love the papers, I have so many ideas of what to do with them. What will you do? I would love to see.

Strawberry Swaps for August

So on Friday I got happy mail, I was so excited. I received a parcel of swaps from the Strawberry Stampers (the Strawberry Stampers are a group of demonstrators led by the lovely Sarah Berry.)  Then I realised that I hadn't shown you all the swaps from August.

The cards are a gorgeous collection of fronts and a card, made by the other members of the team. Surprisingly there was only one repeat stamp set and a combination of different colours, I love guessing what colours are used and the stamp set. I often use swaps for inspiration. Whether it is layouts or colour combinations.

They are all gorgeous, one of my favourite is definetly the card by Martin from martinsmayhem.blogspot.com. Which uses the Share what you love' stamp set, I love the colour combination.

I am off to use these colours on a card, today I am playing with the Frosted Floral suite.

Simple Hexagonal Tealight Holder bag

Hexagon_box_single.png

I wanted to show you one of my favourite bags, although it may be a box. It is a tealight holder which I make when I need a gorgeous quick pressie or table gift. The box/bag was created by pootles. It is gorgeous and so easy to make.

I created a cute christmas version using the 'All is Bright' DSP paper and the 'itty bitty greetings' stamp set. The brilliant thing about the light bulb paper is that they are all random so the direction is not important. My second example was using the 'Frosted Floral DSP'. I love the colours and it shimmers.

Simple Bridesmaid Thank You card

DD and Wonderful Moments.png

A few weeks ago I created a Bridesmaid Thank You card using the 'Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.' I used the 'Detailed with Love' stamps to create the thank you. I love the card with the gorgeous simplicity of the detailed oval frame. I popped it up with foam adhesive strips, it creates a beautiful 3D card, which I think looks better than a store bought.

However, there are only a few oval shapes in each pack, therefore, I have created an alternative card using silver foil, and using the stamps from the Wonderful Moments stamp set. I think that it looks fabulous with the foil and the colours can be matched with the colours chosen for the wedding or bridesmaid dresses.
