A ray of Sunshine

It is raining here and I am starting to feel a bit like a duck, the roads are wet and I have been watching the river (the village flooded a few years ago). To avoid the rain I have been playing with the Sunshine Wishes and Sunshine sayings  stamp and die set.

I love this set, I have had it for a long time, I think it was one of the first bundles I bought along with the Balloon punch. The Sunshine Wishes contains 7 dies, a flower, butterfly, heart and the words congrats, sunshine, love and hope. The Sunshine sayings stamp set contains 26 stamps. If you search on pinterest you will find alot of examples using the heart, therefore, whilst looking at inspiration and deciding what to make i have made more with the other dies,

The stamp set gives a number of options to create sentiments, with or without the dies. I love the versatility of the set, they can be combined with other stamps, dies or punches, or used alone. The Videos below show an overview of the stamp and dies, also the examples I have made using the gorgeous stamps and dies.

I love this set, I am off into the craft room to play with the Sale-a-bration items. What are you playing with?

Hip Hip Hooray

I have been making cards with the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper which is from the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Second Release. I love the papers and the colours especially the Grapefruit  Grove which I appear to be slightly addicted to recently.

I have used the Well Said Bundle, which was new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalogue. The bundle includes the Well Said stamp set with 51 cling stamps and the Well Written Framelits Dies with 24 dies. There are some gorgeous words and the number of sentiments which can be created is fabulous! This is a versatile if budget busting addition to my craft room.

With intricate and tiny dies I sometimes glue them down with small dabs of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen, alternatively I use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a sponge and silicon mat. If you have limited time, the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets are great.

I added the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to my card and create stacks and layering them together. I think they look fabulous!

But it is not Saturday!

I apologise that the Lovely Lattice Video was not uploaded on Saturday, it was a crazy day and I ran out of spoons (I am a not so secret Spoonie!)

As I mentioned last week, one of the gorgeous Sale-a-bration items is Lovely Lattice. I love the gorgeous floral stamps and have been making some examples using the 3 stamps in the stamp set.

I have been pinning ideas on pinterest for weeks before I made some cards. I love the inspiration, I loved the embossed cards although I had to hide my heat gun or all the cards would have been embossed.

I did struggle coming up with ideas for the smaller stamps, but overall I am very happy with the cards I created. The video below shows the cards I have made.

Do you ever want to make lots of cards using the same technique? What is your favourite?

Words of Comfort for a friend

I love Saturdays, my family have a tradition where any of us who are in Blackpool descend on my parents and have Fish and Chips. Today there were 10 for dinner (well 11 but Teddy is a little little for Fish and Chips.) Everyone knows where we are on a Saturday lunch time.

Today’s card is for my friend who has had a tough week, I wanted her to know that I was thinking of her. I hope that this shows that I care and gives a little comfort.

To make the flower I used the Lovely Lattice stamp set. I stamped this on Heat resistant acetate using Versamark ink. I then added gold embossing powder and added heat. I stamped the image again in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock, I then coloured this in with Dark Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay and light Old Olive blends. I then placed the acetate onto the colouring, I used glue dots in the centre of the flowers. I then punched out a 2” circle and added this to the front of the card. I added the sentiment using the ‘Part of My Story’ stamp set.

I think that this card is rather cute!

Lovely Lattices

One of the gorgeous Sale-a-bration items is Lovely Lattice. I love the gorgeous floral stamps, there are 3, one of them is huge, and it is perfect for card fronts.

This set is one of the new ‘cling’ sets. I previously did not add the pictures to the back of my clear stamps (they are clear as they are added to a clear block.)  I have to confess I struggled to line up the images at first; however I am now getting used to it. They are amazing; they are very clingy, almost too clingy. To remove the stamp from the block, grasp securely near the image label and remove slowly, there are a number of suggestions for example placing washi tape under one corner of the stamp.

I had been playing with the Lovely Lattice stamp and making examples, I like to use all the stamps. I have to confess the large image was easy to use, but I struggled with the smaller flower. I found some gorgeous inspiration on Pinterest. I created two cards; I have to say this is my favourite. I love the little flowers the Daffodil Delight blends and the gorgeous sentiment from the ‘Strong and Beautiful’ stamp set.

I have a few more examples to share; I have a video to share these which you will be able to see on Saturday!
