Pouch Gift Card Holder

I am continuing my gift card holder examples. Todays gift card holder is made using a simple pocket. This is one of my favourite designs from the absolutely fabulous Angie Juda, from ChicNScratch. Her original video can be found here. This is one of the easiest holders and I have tweaked the measurements, so you can make 4 from 1 piece of A4. I love that you can choose your own decoration and that they can be as simple or complicated as you want to make them. I have decorated all my examples for Christmas, however they can be altered for any occasion by changing the colours and punches.

Tips and Tricks

Use a strong adhesive to ensure that the pouch stays in place.

Take a smidge off the bottom so that the bottom flap can fold up.

Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! don’t have any clips in the Catalogue, I used some retired clips and some pegs from my stash. Some of the pegs were plain and I coloured them with my Real Red blend, the others were metallic pegs and I think that they look good with the heat embossing. My question is do I need more bling?

North Pole Delivery Mallow Poles

pn3.jpg

A few posts ago I shared one of my favourite Christmas makes, which was a Snowman topped mallow pole. I showed a few alternatives using Ice Creams, Rabbits and the super cute reindeer (I am still in love with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamps and punch, I think it will be in my craft room forever!) Todays project is another mallow pole idea, but using a sentiment rather than an image.

I have created lots of different versions using sentiments and punches. I love that you can choose your own colours and utilise previous stamp sets and punches.

I have used Gorgeous Grape and Mint Macron in these examples with Perfectly Plaid and also the Rectangular postage punch. I have also used the Holiday Rhinestones, these are one of my go to embellishments along with the metallic pearls. I love that they go with lots of different colours on lots of different items.

The video below shows how easy it is to make a mallow pole topper!

I love that they work in lots of different colours, not just the traditional Christmas colours and can be tailored to the recipient. My favourite colour at the moment is Misty Moonlight. What is your favourite colour?

Simple Copper Tree Cards

Perfectly Plaid -NN tree.png

I love watching different channels on Youtube. Sometimes the ideas on the videos inspire me to create a card. This card was inspired by a card by Brandy Cox, an American demo whose cards are amazing, but quick and simple. I loved the simple circle aperture and I also the layering of the circles.

I have teamed a number of items together to create a card which uses simple techniques, blending brushes, punches, created backgrounds, stamping and heat embossing. The snowy background is the one from a previous video using white craft ink and water to ‘flick’ snow, it is super messy but my favourite.

The video below shows how I made the card. Although the circle punches are retired, you could use any that you have, you can also use dies. My slight boo boo with dies was due to using tape which was too sticky.

You could of course use any stars that you may have and use an embossing powder to match. I think it would look fabulous in gold. Gold or Copper which is better?

Special Kangaroo Delivery

I have been playing with my favourite card layout rather than using the snowman, I decided to play with presents.

I loved the Kangaroo the moment I saw it. I love that it can carry flowers, a joey or presents. I have seen some gorgeous gorgeous cards using the different stamps and dies.

I thought that the presents would be perfect for a Christmas card and had decided that the Perfectly Plaid sentiments would work well. I have adored the sentiments since the stamp set was released, I was not sure if I liked the trees, but have used the sentiments previously on cards and tags. The tree stamps were not used on this card, but they will be featured in the next few cards,

CASEing my favourite design

I love searching for inspiration either by searching Google images or using Pinterest, although I can spend hours searching and not enough time crafting. Whilst looking for inspiration for a snowman card, I found an amazing card created by Karina’s Kreation’s the card can be found here. I loved the simplicity and that it had layers but not what I would call ‘normal layers.’

I have to confess that my first card that I tried, was not that amazing. I think that the snowy panel is too large and the Stitched Shape die is too small. I then went back to the drawing board, looking at the panel sizes and also the snow banner.

I finally came up with a size that I liked, which I felt is balanced for the card.

I used traditional blue snow colours, but I think that this would work with lots of different colours. I prefer the Night of Navy and Balmy Blue, whats your favourite?
