Simple Copper Tree Cards

Perfectly Plaid -NN tree.png

I love watching different channels on Youtube. Sometimes the ideas on the videos inspire me to create a card. This card was inspired by a card by Brandy Cox, an American demo whose cards are amazing, but quick and simple. I loved the simple circle aperture and I also the layering of the circles.

I have teamed a number of items together to create a card which uses simple techniques, blending brushes, punches, created backgrounds, stamping and heat embossing. The snowy background is the one from a previous video using white craft ink and water to ‘flick’ snow, it is super messy but my favourite.

The video below shows how I made the card. Although the circle punches are retired, you could use any that you have, you can also use dies. My slight boo boo with dies was due to using tape which was too sticky.

You could of course use any stars that you may have and use an embossing powder to match. I think it would look fabulous in gold. Gold or Copper which is better?

World Card Making Day

It is rather late on World Card Making day, but I wanted to share this beautiful card with you, before I turn in to a pumpkin and before 'Thoughtful Branches' sells out and becomes retired.

I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the tree in Crumb Cake, I VersaMarked and then heat embossed the star using gold embossing powder, versamarked the leaves and used theheat and stick to make them glittery by adding Dazzling Diamonds,

I took a scrap piece of paper and Stamped the small out line banner from 'Banners for You' then 'for you'and heat embossed them in Gold. I cut them out using the Banner framelits. I cut some Glimmer Paper the same size as my Whisper White and off set them on to crumb cake card blanks.

One of my friends wants some for her Christmas cards. Sign up to my newsletter and recieve a free tutorial with sizes on for easy use and you can make some for your friends.

I love this card. I hope you do too.
