Service Disruption

I didn't get a chance to blog over the weekend. In fact I didn't really get to play either. I was limited to sitting on the chair stamping. I was debating for ages about what I wanted to do. I was inspired by Pintrest to make a Halloween card.  Halloween is not something that my family celebrate, so never felt the need. But I couldn't resist the co-ordinating stamps for Halloween, which go with the Cookie Cutter punch, I am in love with the cute Mummy. The card I made, really did not work together.

However I was in love with my own Halloween paper, I used the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamps and the dots from Holly Jolly Greetings. I masked the Lantern to keep the white space. I used Halloween colours of Tangerine Tango and cherry Cobbler.

I shall be experimenting more prior to my return to the full craft room (now the light is fixed).

Playing in the craft room

Some days I play in my craft room (other halfs office) and not produce any completed creations. That does not mean that I have not achieved anything or lost my mojo. It just means that I have played with my stamps and colours gaining ideas to make cards.

Sometimes I choose a card to CASe from Pintrest or Facebook, normally creating the card exactly first. Then I explore what else in my stash I could use on the card. Sometime I use inspiration from the Global Design project.

I have realised that just because nothing is finished doesn't mean that I have wasted my time in the craftroom. I have used my time to learn, Playing is a necessity not a luxury.

Cheerful Tags for Birthdays

It was recently my other halfs Mums birthday. I saw an amazing card on pintrest by an Australian Demo called Marelle Taylor. It was beautiful, I CASed the card, and used it as an inspiration for a bottle decoration.

I loved how the Blooms & Bliss paper looked like a Hydrangea, and debated using it on the tag. However, I decided that the Rich Razzlebury was prettier.

I remembered that I had the gorgeous trio of ribbons from the Paisleys and Posies suite. I teamed the Rich Razzlebury with the other colours from the suite, Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum.

Creating the tag is really easy, however, I recomend that you use the precision plate for the intracate details in the tag dies. The die brush also saves time cleaning the image. I used fine detail glue and also dimensonals to give the tags height from the bottle.

I also created a belly band to go round the bottle, which I stamped Happy Birthday on, I took the stamp from 'BalloonCelebration,' it is one of my favourite birthday type sets.

I placed the bottle in one of the huge guested bags (they fit, Prosecco and Champagne in!!)

I can not wait to use this bundle for all my Christmas wrapping. I am looking forward to experimenting with the foil and Glitter paper in the catalogue. The combinations for birthdays is also really exciting.

This will definetly be a go to bundle for the next few weeks and months. I promise to take a picture of the whole package next time!

World Card Making Day

It is rather late on World Card Making day, but I wanted to share this beautiful card with you, before I turn in to a pumpkin and before 'Thoughtful Branches' sells out and becomes retired.

I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the tree in Crumb Cake, I VersaMarked and then heat embossed the star using gold embossing powder, versamarked the leaves and used theheat and stick to make them glittery by adding Dazzling Diamonds,

I took a scrap piece of paper and Stamped the small out line banner from 'Banners for You' then 'for you'and heat embossed them in Gold. I cut them out using the Banner framelits. I cut some Glimmer Paper the same size as my Whisper White and off set them on to crumb cake card blanks.

One of my friends wants some for her Christmas cards. Sign up to my newsletter and recieve a free tutorial with sizes on for easy use and you can make some for your friends.

I love this card. I hope you do too.

Colour and shape debates

So yesterday was spent debating whether Santa should be Cherry Cobbler or Real Red. Still not sure, I think that Real Red pops more. I think that I will try using the Candy Cane Lane Washi tape,  I think that will make the sides more interesting.

I also played with shapes and the new In colours using the same sketch. With the animals from Love you Lots (hostess set).

Loving the sketch and all its possibilies.
