Christmas Eve Box Treats - Snowman Seasons

1.jpg

A few years ago I found a gorgeous Christmas Eve box in a local charity shop which I gave to my sister for my nieces. Every year I give little treats to be added to the box. Todays project is one of my favourite items to provide for the Christmas Eve box which is some Snowman Mallow Poles.

I used the Snowman Seasons Stamp set and the Snowman Builder Punch. It is a simple project which uses stamps, inks and card with a bit of bling. I love that you can choose how to decorate the buttons, today I went for simple Matte Black Dots.

I coloured the nose by using the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Marker but you could use a Stampin’ blends as no-one will ever see the back as they are stapled together.

Measurements:

Card Strips - CM - 4cm

Card Strips - Inches - 1.5” or 1.75” (both fit the snowman)

The video below shows how simple it is to make.

What I love about this project and the mallow poles is that you can use lots of different stamp sets and punches. I love the cookie cutter punch reindeer. I also think that the bunny looks good for a super cute Easter present (i still need to stamp his face though).

I also used the ice cream punch to create a version which you could use for a birthday item, may be in a party bag,

Which is your favourite?

I have been looking at the DSP which is available in the catalogue. As I am crafting Christmas cards at least 5 months early (christmas in July anyone), there are no Christmassy papers in the catalogue. I like the pattern from the artistry blooms DSP although it is not traditionally Christmas colours. I think it looks pretty used in the simple layout of the card. I love the fact that these cards are quick, easy and also that you can make each one individual adding different elements so that no two look the same.

Snowman Season - Easel Card

2.jpg

I have to confess, I love sparkly snowmen and I love the Snowmen from Snowman Seasons. But I sometimes find the dark lines of using Momento ink to stamp the Snowman distracting. So I have been experimenting with different colours and types of ink to stamp the Snowman, whilst I am continuing with my Christmas card challenge.

I have tried to do something a little different creating a easel card which is simple to do and all you need is a scoring tool. Also the other thing to remember is only to glue the bottom of the card ( even I haven’t got this bit wrong.)

I have been using different colour combinations on these cards, these are:

Night of Navy and Balmy Blue

Night of Navy and Pool Party

Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss

Snowman Season - simple Stamping

4.png

Another day, another Snowman Seasons simple card. Todays card uses stamp, inks and paper (do Stampin’ Write markers count?)

I saw a gorgeous card with this simple design on Pinterest and thought it was the perfect card for making multiples. I also thought that it was a fabulously gorgeous card.

You could stamp the Merry Christmas in lots of different colours. Also you could use any Stampin’ Write marker to colour the hat. I have seen some gorgeous combinations with Pool Party.

You could use a Stampin’ Write marker, to draw a wobbly line around the card, or you could trace around a shape to create a interesting pattern.

I love the bright real red Merry Christmas. What is your favourite?

Snowman Season - crafting through the seasons

2.png

Last year I was really disappointed in myself, I did not really make any Christmas Cards and did not send many either. Part of the problem was putting it off and then the normal life got in the way excuse.

I love making cards, but I am not good at sending them to people, they seem to be left in a box. It is something that I really need to get better at. This year I am determined to make and send all my friends and family cards, especially Christmas Cards.

So I have set myself a challenge to make a minimum of 5 Christmas Cards a week to be able to send cards to everyone on my card list. So I have created the Claire’s Creative Christmas Card Challenge aka #5cscrimbochallenge. I have decided to document what is happening.

1.png

My first card idea is a Simple Christmas Card using the Snowman Season Stamp Set and Glitter. Although Stampin’Up! does not sell Glitter any more there are lots of choices out there for you to choose from, If you do not want to get messy, you could use metallic pearls or sequins.

My Metric

10.5 cm x 14.5 cm

Inside Panel - 10 cm x 14.5 cm

Inside Panel 10cm x 14.3cm

I like all three, but the glitter just has an extra edge. Nothing quite says snow/ Christmas like glitter. Which is your favourite?
